In 1967 a man named Carroll Shelby began taking stock Ford Mustangs and changing them into muscle car powerhouses. The stock Mustangs were given bigger motors, exterior add ons like side body air vents, and bigger tires.
These 1967 Ford Mustangs were specially modified by Carroll Shelby's company and sold under the name Shelby GT.

1979 Trans Am


The 1979 Pontiac Trans Am Special Edition was Pontiac's gift to consumers to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Firebird/Trans Am. The Trans Am gained a huge following after Burt Reynolds drove a 1977 Trans Am in Smokey and The Bandit. Pontiac first started producing Firebird/Trans Am cars in the late 60's to compete with Chevrolet against the Camaro.
